Google can ask for a phone number during account creation, sign-in or recovery. Those are different decisions. Identify the exact prompt before buying an SMS activation.

Choose the country for Google’s current phone field
If Google permits a new-number SMS step, hold Google as the receiving service and compare the origins that its current form accepts. Read the country selector together with the remaining digits, rather than treating a low price in another country as the same offer.
What changing country cannot establish: A number rejected by Google or used too many times is not shown to become eligible by changing the country. Use the permitted route in Google’s actual screen.

Read Google's message before choosing a number
Google's verification flow may show a specific error when a phone number cannot be used or has been used too many times. A new SMS order does not alter Google's decision about a previously entered number. Read the full error and choose a permitted route through Google's own flow.
For an existing account, first check whether a Google prompt, an already configured authenticator, backup code or another registered phone is offered. Google's 2-Step Verification guidance describes alternatives to a new SMS request. A temporary order is useful only if the current screen truly requests a code to a new number you can provide.
Match country to the form
Choose the country that fits Google's number field and your account's actual requirements. If Google gives a separate country selector, follow its instructions for entering the rest of the number; do not duplicate an international prefix. A country code alone says nothing about whether Google will allow the line for this purpose.

Review, order and read the result

If Google declines the number before sending, the issue is Google's eligibility decision, not an SMS delivery delay. If Google says it sent a code but no message appears, compare the entered digits and country with the active order, then read its status before trying again.
Keep a reliable recovery method
A short activation cannot guarantee the same number for later Google sign-ins or recovery. Review Google's current security methods while you still have account access. An eligible unanswered OTPAtlas order may return its activation charge to account balance under the order policy; that does not change Google's account decision.

Can any listed Google number verify a new account?
No. Google applies its own checks, and a catalogue entry does not prove acceptance.
What does 'used too many times' mean?
Google limits some uses of phone numbers for verification. Follow the error and Google's help rather than retrying that number.
Could Google send a prompt instead of an SMS?
Yes, an eligible signed-in phone may receive a Google prompt. Use the method shown by your account.
Does the $20 top-up buy one Google code?
No. It is a minimum funding amount for account credit; a current activation has a separate order price.
Can I recover the account with the number after expiry?
A one-time activation offers no continuing control of the number. Set a recovery method you can keep.
What if Google rejects the number immediately?
Read Google's exact error and use its supported alternative. Waiting for a message will not reverse an immediate rejection.
